Rwandan artists Mukayizeri Djalia (Kecapu) and Benimana Ramadhan (Bamenya) have won cars at the 11th Mashariki Film Festival, held at Serena Hotel.
In the women’s category, Kecapu topped the votes with 70,208, followed by Uwamahoro Antoinette (Intare y’Ingore) with 32,317 votes. In the men’s category, Bamenya led with 80,748 votes, while Aime Valens Tuyisenge (Boss Rukundo) received 14,320 votes.
The total votes for women were 126,948, equivalent to RWF 25,389,600, while men’s votes totaled 120,432, equivalent to RWF 24,086,400. Overall, 247,380 votes were cast, amounting to RWF 49,476,000.
The winners will each receive a Hyundai Sonata, valued at RWF 13 million each, totaling RWF 26 million. The festival began on November 22, 2025, and will conclude on November 29, 2025.
