Bruce Melodie’s latest Instagram post has opened a new chapter in Rwanda’s biggest music conversation.

The singer recently wrote that “Coach also needs a coach,” a short message that many fans immediately linked to ongoing rumours about his relationship with Coach Gael and the wider 155am team.

According to the original report, speculation about tension between Bruce Melodie and Coach Gael started spreading toward the end of May, although both sides initially denied claims that their working relationship had broken down.

The conversation grew louder during preparations for the Summer Country Tour, a nationwide concert run featuring Bruce Melodie and The Ben, two of Rwanda’s most talked-about music stars.

During a press event for the tour, 155am executive Kenny Mugarura was asked why Bruce Melodie’s photos were no longer visible at Kigali Universe. He explained that the venue regularly changes the pictures displayed inside, and Bruce Melodie’s images had simply been replaced.

Still, fans continued reading deeper meaning into the situation, especially as Bruce Melodie appeared to suggest that some people around him openly supported The Ben.

That comment added more weight to an old industry backstory. Coach Gael was reportedly first expected to work with The Ben when he entered the music business around four years ago, but the relationship allegedly fell apart around an early song project. Coach Gael later went on to work closely with Bruce Melodie.

Now, the Summer Country Tour has turned into more than just a music event. For many fans, it has become a stage for the quiet rivalry between Bruce Melodie and The Ben.

The report claims Bruce Melodie has often appeared to move with a smaller personal team during the tour. From Musanze to Nyagatare and Bugesera, he was reportedly seen mostly with his band, his security aide known as Mubi, and a few close associates.

In Musanze, Bruce Melodie reportedly had more people around him during sound check, including media figure Jado Kabanda, who has worked with him for years. But on the main concert day, the report says the singer arrived with only a small circle.

In Nyagatare, the pattern appeared similar. Bruce Melodie reportedly arrived with his band and security, while Africa Amani, one of the organisers, remained one of the people closest to him during preparations.

The after-party in Nyagatare also drew attention. The report claims Bruce Melodie spent only a short time at the venue before leaving, while other industry figures, including Kenny Mugarura, Coach Gael and Muyoboke Alex, were seen socialising elsewhere.

In Bugesera, Coach Gael reportedly appeared at sound check for the first time on the tour. He spoke briefly with Amani and Bruce Melodie before leaving, while Bruce later went on stage to complete his sound check.

The conversation grew even bigger after the Nyamata show, where videos from an after-party showed Coach Gael and other 155am figures spending time with The Ben’s camp. Bruce Melodie was not seen in those clips.

That moment became social media fuel. Noopja later posted on Instagram that Team The Ben would welcome Coach Gael because they considered him part of their family. Coach Gael reposted the message, which pushed fans to read even more into the situation.

Soon after, Bruce Melodie posted his own message: “Coach also needs a coach.”

The line was short, but in Rwanda’s entertainment space, it landed loudly. Fans saw it as a possible response to Coach Gael’s repost and the growing public connection between him and The Ben’s side.

The report also suggests that some members of Bruce Melodie’s usual support system may have been busy with the tour’s wider organisation. Watu Wavu, another project linked to Coach Gael, is also said to have taken up the attention of some people who might normally be closer to Bruce.

Africa Amani and Uhujimfura Claude were mentioned as figures who remained involved around Bruce Melodie, though they also had other responsibilities connected to the tour.

For now, there is no official confirmation that Bruce Melodie has split from Coach Gael or 155am. What exists is a trail of public appearances, Instagram posts, fan reactions and behind-the-scenes claims that have made the relationship look increasingly complicated.

The bigger story is about image, loyalty and power inside Rwanda’s music industry. Bruce Melodie and The Ben are both major stars, and every small move around them now becomes part of a larger public battle over who controls the moment.

As the Summer Country Tour continues, fans will be watching closely. In Rwandan entertainment, the stage is no longer the only place where the performance happens.
