Fuji musician Saheed Osupa has defended his use of traditional spiritual practices, stating that his involvement in juju is aimed at personal success rather than causing harm.

Speaking during a performance at the 52nd anniversary celebration of veteran actor Fatai Odua, Osupa addressed criticism surrounding his beliefs and practices. He rejected calls to distance himself from what some describe as fetish practices.

According to the singer, his spiritual approach is a personal choice focused on progress. He maintained that his actions have never been linked to harmful conduct or wrongdoing.

Osupa also explained that his daily routine includes paying homage to Ifa, which he described as a source of strength and guidance. He added that while many individuals engage in similar practices privately, he chooses to be open about his beliefs.

The artist further advised his backup performers to adopt similar practices, suggesting that such routines could enhance performance and memory.

His remarks have since generated reactions online, fueling ongoing discussions about tradition, spirituality, and public perception within Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
