Shatta Wale Explains Burna Boy Friendship Fallout

Shatta Wale has opened up about the rumour he believes destroyed his close friendship with Burna Boy, saying the Nigerian superstar was falsely told that he had slept with his girlfriend.

According to The Honest Bunch Podcast, the Ghanaian dancehall star said the accusation came from former members of his management team after their working relationship ended.

Shatta Wale explained that he and Burna Boy once shared a strong bond. Before visiting Ghana, Burna Boy would reportedly contact him directly and ask the “On God” singer to meet him at the airport.

The Ghanaian musician said he welcomed Burna Boy warmly, arranging accommodation, vehicles and other support to make his stay comfortable.

He described the Nigerian singer as someone he treated like family, adding that Burna Boy rarely had to spend his own money while staying in Ghana.

The relationship reportedly changed after Shatta Wale dismissed some members of his team. He claimed the former associates then began spreading damaging stories about him to wealthy friends and influential people.

Among the allegations, Shatta Wale said, was a claim that he had been involved with the partners of people close to him.

He believes one of those rumours eventually reached Burna Boy. According to Shatta Wale, the Nigerian artist was told that he had slept with the woman Burna Boy brought to Ghana.

Shatta Wale said he only realised Burna Boy had taken the allegation seriously when his calls and messages went unanswered.
