YouTube Nigeria unveils its 2025 Top Lists, naming Omoni Oboli TV and Gaise Baba among the most viewed creators nationwide.

YouTube Nigeria has released its official 2025 Top Lists, highlighting the creators, music videos and storytellers that defined viewing habits across the country over the past year.
The list places Omoni Oboli TV and Gaise Baba among the most watched Nigerian YouTube creators, reflecting the growing influence of Nollywood content and faith-inspired music on the platform. The announcement also marked the rollout of YouTube Recap, a new personalised feature that allows users to review their individual viewing trends for the year.
According to YouTube, the 2025 music rankings were led by a mix of gospel, Afrobeats and emerging artists. Gaise Baba and Lawrence Oyor’s No Turning Back II topped the music video list, alongside popular releases such as Shallipopi’s Laho, Davido’s With You featuring Omah Lay, and visuals from artists including Olamide, Asake, Rema and Wizkid.

Beyond music, drama and comedy content drew strong engagement. Nollywood-focused channels such as Omoni Oboli TV, Itelediconstudio, RuthKadiri247 and Uche Montana TV featured prominently, alongside comedy creators including Brain Jotter. Other recognised channels include Uchenna Mbunabo TV, Saira Movies, Maurice Sam TV, APATATV+, Sonia Uche TV and Brain Jotter.
YouTube also introduced YouTube Recap, a year-end feature that generates a shareable summary of each user’s activity, including top-watched channels and themes. The feature assigns viewers a “personality type” based on their habits and identifies users who rank among the top 25 percent of fans for specific creators.
Commenting on the release, Addy Awofisayo, Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa at YouTube, said Nigeria’s creators continue to produce content that resonates locally and internationally, spanning chart-topping music and widely watched Nollywood stories.
