Nick Jonas has shared that the Jonas Brothers’ new Christmas film was inspired in part by their families — including his daughter, Malti Marie.

Speaking about A Very Jones Christmas Movie, Jonas said the project was driven by a desire to create something meaningful that their children could watch in the future and feel proud of. The film, made with brothers Joe and Kevin Jonas, was released on November 14.

Jonas said the band is now at a different stage of life and career, with a focus on building work that lasts beyond the moment. He noted that after two decades in the industry, the group is still thinking long-term — not only about their music, but also how their children might one day view and share their projects with others.

In an interview with Extra, Jonas said the brothers want their children to be able to look back on their creative work and feel connected to it. He added that a Christmas movie felt especially fitting because holiday films tend to remain part of family traditions for years.

The Jonas Brothers recently completed the North American leg of their ongoing JONAS20 tour.
