Concerns have resurfaced over the health of Ugandan singer of Rwandan origin Fille Mutoni following reports that she has been hospitalized after relapsing into drug use, only months after beginning a recovery process.
The update was shared by Ugandan media personality and events host MC Kats, who previously had a personal relationship with the artist and is also the father of her child. He disclosed that Fille had resumed drug use a short time after leaving a rehabilitation facility where she had been receiving treatment.
MC Kats initially posted images showing the singer admitted to hospital and receiving oxygen support, without immediately explaining the cause of her condition. He later clarified that her hospitalization was linked to a relapse involving drug use, which he said had serious medical consequences.
According to MC Kats, Fille’s return to substance use was influenced by external pressure and persuasion from people around her. He warned that relapsing while still undergoing medical treatment for addiction can have severe and sometimes fatal outcomes.
In his remarks, MC Kats drew parallels with international cases, including late American singer Whitney Houston, citing relapse as a major risk factor in addiction recovery. He emphasized that he has personally witnessed multiple individuals lose their lives under similar circumstances.
The situation has also reignited debate within Uganda’s entertainment industry. MC Kats criticized the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), questioning the transparency of financial support the organization previously claimed to have provided for Fille’s medical care.
The latest developments have prompted renewed public calls for long-term and structured support for the singer to help prevent further relapse and safeguard her recovery.
Fille Mutoni has previously spoken openly about the emotional challenges faced by artists, noting that loneliness and lack of close personal support often contribute to substance abuse among public figures.
