The Deejays Association of Nigeria (DJAN) has denied reports claiming it banned Burna Boy’s songs following a reported altercation involving DJ Tunez, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement released on Thursday, DJAN President Prince Akim Edeh said the association had not imposed any restriction on the artist’s music and urged media platforms to avoid spreading unverified information.
DJAN emphasized its commitment to professionalism within the entertainment industry, stating that it maintains a strict stance against violence and physical confrontations. The association added that it is closely monitoring ongoing investigations into the incident.
The group also condemned the unauthorized use of its official logo in circulating reports, distancing itself from claims suggesting an industry-wide ban on Burna Boy’s songs.
According to DJAN, DJ Tunez is not a registered member of the association, further clarifying its non-involvement in any disciplinary action linked to the situation.
The controversy reportedly stems from an incident at Obi’s House in Lagos, where DJ Tunez was allegedly assaulted after playing songs by Wizkid instead of Burna Boy.
DJAN reiterated its commitment to fostering collaboration between DJs and artists, urging the public to remain calm while authorities handle the matter.
