Nigerian singer Crayon has alleged that fellow artist Tiwa Savage introduced him to an illicit substance known as “Backy” during the early stages of his career.

Crayon, whose real name is Charles Chibueze Chukwu, made the claim in a recent interview with streamer Carterefe, where he reflected on his past experiences in the music industry.

According to him, the incident occurred in 2018 while both artists were affiliated with Mavin Records.

He explained that “Backy” is a mixture of substances, including cannabis and other drugs, typically rolled into a blunt.

Recounting the encounter, Crayon said Tiwa Savage allegedly offered him the substance after asking whether he smoked.

Tiwa Savage was my crush in 2018. She gave me my first Backy,” he said, adding that he accepted it after confirming that he smoked.

The singer further stated that he has continued using the substance since that time.

The comments come amid Crayon’s recent discussions about substance use and its impact, as he continues to speak publicly about his personal experiences in the industry.
