Rwandan singer Clarisse Karasira has released a new song titled “Abandi Bana,” marking her return to the music scene after an 11-month break. The song was officially released on Saturday, January 23, 2026.

Currently based in the United States, Karasira said the song addresses the growing pressure many people face due to comparisons fueled by social media. According to the artist, “Abandi Bana” aims to remind listeners—particularly young people—to avoid measuring their lives against curated images and lifestyles seen online.

In an interview with InyaRwanda, Karasira explained that the song was inspired by everyday experiences that many people go through but rarely discuss openly. She noted that social media often presents only positive moments, concealing the struggles behind them.

The artist emphasized that constant exposure to idealized online content can cause individuals to lose focus on their own personal journeys. She added that people may feel pressured to imitate lives they do not fully understand, leading to unnecessary stress and dissatisfaction.

The music video for “Abandi Bana” reflects ordinary daily life, highlighting the importance of embracing one’s own path rather than aspiring to live like others. Karasira said the visuals were intentionally designed to reinforce the song’s message of self-acceptance and reflection.

Known for producing music with strong social themes, Clarisse Karasira continues to use her platform to address contemporary issues.

“Abandi Bana” reinforces her reputation as an artist committed to delivering messages that resonate with real-life challenges faced by modern society.
