Ekobe music artist and leader of the Anioma Brothers Band of Africa, Azuka Moweta, is gaining attention with his latest album, Kenechukwu, which industry stakeholders say could have significant cultural and social impact.

The project follows the release of Ekobe Global and continues Moweta’s exploration of traditional African sounds. The seven-track album blends Ekobe Asaba music with highlife influences, featuring songs such as Kenechukwu, Izunwanne Ka, Odogwu Ahaba, and Onye Zusia.

According to the article on page 3, the album also includes tribute elements, notably honouring trumpeter Zeal Onyia, while acknowledging cultural figures such as the Asagba of Asaba and the late Chief Obi Nwanze Oduah.

Producers behind the project have highlighted its originality and potential reach. Nnamdi Moweta of Odogwu Entertainment noted that the album introduces a brass section to Ekobe music, describing it as a “vintage” sound with the capacity to make a broad social impact.

Lucas Da Silva of Palenque Records also emphasized the importance of the partnership in promoting African talent globally, while the album’s creative director, Kenechukwu Ibedu, described the project as a “masterpiece” production.

Recorded in Anambra State, Kenechukwu is now available on major streaming platforms worldwide. Industry contributors say the album’s reception—especially during cultural celebrations—reflects its resonance with both local audiences and the diaspora.
