Afrobeats star Asake has emerged as the leading artist on Nigeria’s list of the most-streamed albums since 2020, according to data compiled by TurnTable Charts, a leading Nigerian music chart publication.
The singer dominates the ranking with multiple projects, including his sophomore album “Work of Art,” which leads the chart with 661.2 million streams. Released in 2023, the album achieved both commercial success and critical acclaim while maintaining strong performance across streaming platforms.
Asake’s debut album “Mr Money With The Vibe” holds the second position with over 634 million streams, while his third album “Lungu Boy” ranks sixth with more than 387 million streams. The presence of three albums in the top tier highlights the artist’s influence in Nigeria’s digital music era.
Industry observers note that Asake’s success aligns with recent data from Spotify Nigeria, which also listed him as the platform’s most-streamed artist since its launch in the country in 2021.
The artist rose to mainstream popularity in 2022 following the release of his “Ololade Asake” EP. His distinctive blend of energetic rap delivery, fuji-inspired melodies and collaborations with producer Magicsticks helped produce several hit singles that accelerated his rise within the Afrobeats scene.
Other artists on the list
Several other Nigerian stars also appear multiple times on the ranking of the most-streamed albums since 2020.
Burna Boy recorded three entries, including “Love, Damini” which ranks fourth with 436.8 million streams, and “I Told Them” which sits ninth with 308 million streams. His Grammy-winning album “Twice As Tall” also appears on the list with 235.3 million streams.
Davido also secured multiple placements, with “Timeless” ranking fifth with 428 million streams, while his album “5ive,” released in 2025, ranks fifteenth.
Meanwhile, Wizkid appears twice on the chart with “Morayo” at number ten and his globally successful album “Made In Lagos” ranked thirteenth.
Singer Seyi Vibez also features twice with “Billion Dollar Baby” ranked eighth and “Thy Kingdom Come” placed seventeenth.
The rankings, which reflect the rapid growth of digital music consumption in Nigeria since 2020, underline the expanding influence of Afrobeats and its leading artists in the country’s streaming era.
