According to the source article, singer Alex Warren has joked that fellow musician and mentor Ed Sheeran no longer responds to his emails, attributing the silence to his own frequent messages.
Warren shared the lighthearted comment during the Live From E! Stream: Spotify Best New Artist Party 2026 on January 29, where he appeared while celebrating his nomination for Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Speaking with host Erin Lim Rhodes, Warren said he had recently messaged Sheeran to acknowledge that he emails him too often. He recalled sending a note apologizing for his constant correspondence and joking that his New Year’s resolution was to email Sheeran less. The message, he said, did not receive a reply.
The 25-year-old artist explained that he tends to reach out whenever even minor events occur in his life, adding that he is actively trying to reduce how often he contacts the Grammy-winning singer.
Despite the joke about unanswered emails, Warren emphasized that his enthusiasm for connecting with others in the music industry remains strong. After learning of his Grammy nomination, he said he reached out to fellow nominees, including Lola Young, Katseye, The Marías, Leon Thomas, Olivia Dean, and sombr, to congratulate them.
Warren noted that he attempted to FaceTime as many of the nominees as possible and said he had meaningful conversations with some of them. He described himself as a “people person” and said he values the diversity of styles represented among the Best New Artist nominees.
He added that he wanted to check in on others because he understood how overwhelming the nomination experience can feel.
