Kim Kardashian’s longtime law mentor has spoken about the reality star’s extended path toward becoming an attorney and her latest setback after failing the California Bar Exam.

The 45-year-old has spent six years studying law with the goal of transitioning from entertainment to full-time legal work. Rather than attend a traditional law school, Kardashian enrolled in California’s law office study program, an apprenticeship-style path that requires four years of supervised training and a high level of self-discipline.

Jessica Jackson, the attorney who has mentored Kardashian since 2018, said the mother of four remained consistent despite the lack of a formal classroom structure. Jackson noted that Kardashian built her own study schedule and followed it diligently.

After receiving news that she did not pass the bar exam, Kardashian shared an emotional message on social media, describing the difficulties of the journey and expressing her determination to continue. She wrote that the setback serves as “fuel” and reaffirmed her commitment to eventually becoming a licensed attorney. She also mentioned physical challenges, including persistent back pain during study periods.

Jackson praised Kardashian’s openness, saying her willingness to share disappointment publicly reflects her authenticity and may inspire others facing similar struggles. She added that Kardashian’s behind-the-scenes effort aligns with what she has communicated to the public.

Despite the recent setback, Kardashian has made significant progress in her legal training. She previously passed the First-Year Law Students’ Examination, commonly known as the “baby bar,” after three attempts, as well as the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam earlier this year.
