Fast-rising Nollywood actress Agwunobi Akachukwu Peculiar, popularly known as Ada Uli, has said she is prepared to take daring roles in the Nigerian film industry as part of her effort to expand her acting range and build a lasting career.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actress explained that her ultimate fulfilment will come from portraying challenging characters that test her creativity and allow her to grow professionally.
Ada Uli, who is known for her graceful screen presence and often portrays regal or princess-like characters, said she hopes to secure leading roles in notable films and television productions within the next few years.
“I want to secure leading roles in notable films or series that will showcase my range and talent. I also hope to receive awards or nominations for my performances, which would help solidify my position in the industry,” she said.
The actress also noted that she intends to explore multiple genres, including drama, comedy and action, as she works to broaden her acting portfolio and establish herself as a versatile performer.
According to her, authenticity in storytelling remains a key motivation in her work.
“Delving into the complexities of a character’s soul, uncovering their motivations and crafting a rich backstory will make me fulfilled. Being open and vulnerable on screen and allowing myself to be seen and heard also means a lot to me,” she said.
Ada Uli further expressed a desire for greater creative freedom in Nollywood, saying such an environment would allow actors to experiment more and push artistic boundaries.
She added that having the liberty to take risks and try different acting techniques would be deeply fulfilling, although she acknowledged that such opportunities are still limited within the Nigerian film industry.
