Ghanaian dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have made significant financial contributions to support the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

At a fundraising event held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City on March 21, 2026, Shatta Wale donated $100,000, while Stonebwoy pledged $101,000.

Stonebwoy’s pledge includes $81,000 in cash and an additional $20,000 worth of music services, bringing his total contribution slightly above that of Shatta Wale.

The initiative is part of a broader fundraising campaign aimed at mobilising resources to support Ghanaian fans travelling to the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Organisers say the goal is to ensure strong fan presence to support the national team during the tournament.

President John Dramani Mahama, speaking at the launch, clarified that the government will not allocate public funds for fan travel, noting that the campaign depends on voluntary contributions from individuals, companies, and public figures.

The contributions from both artistes have drawn widespread attention, highlighting the growing role of entertainers in national initiatives and boosting public enthusiasm ahead of the global competition.
