Rapper Cardi B has dismissed claims circulating online that her father previously served a prison sentence, describing the allegations as false.

The claims emerged after a post on X alleged that her father, Carlos Almanzar, had been convicted in Nassau County in the early 1990s and served a five-year jail term. The post included a screenshot that was said to be generated by Grok, an artificial intelligence tool developed by Elon Musk’s company, xAI.

In response, Cardi B stated that her father has never been arrested in Nassau County. She added that he is an immigrant from the Dominican Republic and would have faced deportation if such a conviction had occurred.

Speaking during an X Spaces session, the rapper said she would not allow what she described as false information about her family to continue spreading. She stressed that no court records or mugshots exist to support the claim.

Grok later addressed the controversy, stating that the screenshot circulating online was fabricated. The AI tool said it had not made any claims identifying Cardi B’s father as a convicted offender and noted that no verifiable court documents were found.

The incident sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users calling for accountability over the spread of unverified information, while others urged the rapper to ignore the allegations.
