XLCreativeHub has invited screenwriters and storytellers to submit original film script synopses for its Screenwriting Competition and Creator Residency programme, offering participants the opportunity to transform their stories into full film productions.

According to the organisers, submissions for the competition will close on March 16, with judges scheduled to review entries between March 17 and March 20. The announcement was made through the organisation’s official platform.

Six finalists will be selected and announced on March 20, and the event will be streamed live on XLCreativeHub’s YouTube channel. The judging panel includes Halima Odiegwu, Emil Guruba and Kehinde Joseph, who will evaluate the submitted scripts.

Shortlisted finalists will then participate in a Screenwriting Residency programme in Abuja from March 22 to 28, where they will receive mentorship and professional guidance to further develop their scripts.

Following the residency, the finalists will create completed movie scripts, from which trailers will be produced. These trailers will be presented to the public for voting between March 28 and April 6, with the final winner expected to be announced on April 7, 2026.

Speaking on the initiative, Josh Akosile, Chief Operating Officer of XLCreativeHub, encouraged writers to take advantage of the opportunity.

“We are pleased to invite screenwriters and storytellers to submit a synopsis of their original feature-length film script for consideration in the prestigious XLCreativeHub

Screenwriting Competition and Creator Residency,” he said

Akosile explained that the programme is designed to discover new storytelling talent and support the development of original film ideas.

“If you have a powerful story and the vision to bring it to life on screen, this is your chance to be discovered, developed and celebrated,” he added.

The winning participant will have the chance to secure a professional film writing contract, a film production deal and shared royalties, providing a pathway for emerging screenwriters to bring their stories to the big screen.
