A viral video circulating online shows Nigerian singer Teni approaching the VIP section during an International Women’s Day (IWD) event attended by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and other top officials in Akwa Ibom State.

In the video, the singer, who appeared to be performing as a guest artist, entertained the crowd with her 2018 hit song “Case.” During the performance, she attempted to move toward the VIP section where dignitaries, including First Lady Remi Tinubu, Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, were seated.

Security personnel initially tried to prevent the singer from entering the restricted area. However, she eventually moved past them and entered the section, where she continued interacting with the dignitaries during her performance.

After reaching the VIP area, Teni encouraged Akpabio and Eno to sing along to parts of the song before transitioning to another track, “Uyo Meyo.” The video also shows the singer kneeling before the First Lady while appearing to receive a brief correction from her.

The event was part of the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

In a Facebook post following the event, Governor Umo Eno expressed appreciation to the First Lady for her remarks and support for women’s development initiatives in the state.

He also reiterated the federal government’s commitment to major infrastructure projects, including the Ibom Deep Seaport and the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway.

Eno added that women who attended the gathering endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and himself for the 2027 elections.
