Nkechi Blessing Recounts Arrest of Woman Who Secretly Filmed Her

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has disclosed that she personally tracked down and facilitated the arrest of the woman who secretly recorded her during a workout session at a Lagos gym. The video, which circulated widely earlier this year, triggered intense online body-shaming and criticism.

Speaking on the Honest Brunch Podcast, Blessing recounted how the unauthorised recording led to public mockery and how she insisted on identifying the individual responsible after the gym allegedly declined to release the woman’s details.

“iFitness hid her information from me. I found her. I got her arrested,” she said, describing the incident as a serious breach of her privacy.

The actress also criticised those who mocked her appearance in the leaked footage and rejected comparisons with individuals who have undergone cosmetic surgery. She defended her natural body and stated that her gym attire is based solely on comfort.

“This is who I have been. I wear the clothes that make me feel comfortable. I’m not trying to hide from anybody,” she said.

Blessing became the focus of online conversations after the secretly recorded video—showing her without makeup and visibly tired during exercise—spread across social media, prompting comparisons with her curated Instagram photos and resulting in widespread body-shaming.
