Naeto C says marriage, fatherhood and life priorities influenced his decision to put his music career on hold.

Nigerian rapper and entrepreneur Naetochukwu Chikwe, popularly known as Naeto C, has explained why he chose to pause his music career at the height of its popularity, citing family responsibilities and personal life choices.

Speaking on the matter, Naeto C said his decision was influenced largely by major milestones in his personal life. He noted that getting married in 2012 and welcoming his first child the following year led him to reassess his long-term priorities and the lifestyle he envisioned for himself and his family.

According to the rapper, he did not believe that continuing to focus fully on music at that stage would provide the stability or future he wanted. He added that music was never a carefully structured career plan but rather a path he followed out of passion and natural talent.

Naeto C explained that his entry into music was driven by his love for the art and his ability to create songs that resonated with audiences, rather than a long-term ambition to remain a full-time musician.

He also shared that attempts to return to recording over the years have often been disrupted by unexpected personal events, which further deepened his uncertainty about whether music was meant to remain his primary focus.

Despite stepping away from the industry, Naeto C said he continues to encounter fans who remind him of the impact his music had on their lives. These interactions, he noted, leave him conflicted between nostalgia for his musical past and the realities of his present responsibilities.

The rapper’s comments offer insight into the personal considerations behind his absence from the music scene, underscoring how family life and evolving priorities shaped his career decisions.
