Newly crowned White Star Miss Soweto, Lungile Siyaphi, says the reality of winning the 46th edition of the pageant is still sinking in. Siyaphi shared her gratitude on social media, thanking supporters who encouraged her throughout the competition.

Siyaphi secured the title at the event held at the Soweto Theatre on Saturday, outperforming first princess Boitumelo Molotsana and second princess Kutlwano Zingitwa.

Viewers will be able to watch the pageant on Mzansi Wethu this Saturday, with additional repeats scheduled over the following week.

Jonita Cuff, marketing manager for headline sponsor White Star, described the 2025 Miss Soweto event as “a celebration of strength, spirit, and community.”

Siyaphi received a R100 000 cash prize, while Molotsana earned R20 000 and an additional R5 000 after being voted Miss Social Butterfly by fellow contestants. Zingitwa received R15 000 as second princess.

The 2025 Miss Soweto journey began on 16 October, when the top 20 contestants were announced. Participants took part in workshops aimed at preparing them for public engagements, leadership opportunities, and long-term personal development.

The judging panel featured former Kaya FM broadcaster Bridget Masinga and renowned make-up artist Bongi Mlotshwa. The event was co-hosted by YFM presenters Nia Brown and Tulz Madala, with musical entertainment by Azana.
