Vestine and Dorcas are Rwandan gospel singers whose sisterly harmonies have carried worship music from Musanze church choirs to audiences across East Africa and the diaspora. The duo consists of Vestine Ishimwe and her younger sister Kamikazi Dorcas.

They entered professional music in 2020, broke through with “Nahawe Ijambo” and built a catalogue that includes “Adonaï,” “Ibuye,” “Simpagarara,” “Neema,” “Yebo (Nitawale)” and “Emmanuel.”

Early Life and Creative Roots

Vestine Ishimwe was born on 2 February 2004, while Kamikazi Dorcas was born on 28 June 2006. They are 22 and 20 respectively as of 27 July 2026. The sisters come from Musanze District in Rwanda’s Northern Province and are two of six children born to Uzamukunda Elizabeth and Nizeyimana Mazimpaka. Music began inside their Christian upbringing rather than through a commercial audition. The sisters sang in children’s worship settings and later with Goshen Choir in the ADEPR church tradition. Their earliest independent work included gospel covers shared online from 2018.

School remained part of their story as their audience grew. During preparations for their first album concert, InyaRwanda reported that both singers were still secondary-school students and used their holidays for rehearsals.
