Ghanaian music duo Keche has expressed disappointment after failing to secure a nomination at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), raising concerns about the transparency of the selection process.
The group, made up of Andrew Kofi Cudjoe and Joshua Kojo Ampah, reacted publicly on March 15 via X (formerly Twitter), questioning why they were invited to the nominations event but ultimately received no recognition.
In their post, Keche suggested possible bias in the awards system, stating, “They invited us but zero nomination, herrr mafia Paa this.” The term “mafia” is commonly used within Ghana’s music industry to imply perceived unfairness or favoritism in decision-making.
Despite the criticism, the duo stopped short of directly attacking the organizers. Instead, they maintained a measured tone and expressed optimism about their future prospects. They highlighted their latest single, Selina, as a strong contender for recognition in upcoming editions of the awards.
The reaction from Keche has reignited ongoing discussions among fans and industry observers about the credibility and transparency of the TGMA nomination process—widely regarded as Ghana’s most prestigious music awards platform.
Keche, known for popular hits such as Sokode, Aluguntugui, and No Dulling, has remained a consistent presence in the Ghanaian music scene for over a decade, making their absence from this year’s nominations a point of notable debate.
