Rwandan singer Bill Ruzima has said he has embraced positive personal change following his release from a drug rehabilitation center, where he received treatment for substance abuse.
The musician shared the message in a post on social media, where he reflected on his experience and encouraged the public to avoid drug use. In his statement, Ruzima emphasized the importance of resisting and actively fighting against drugs, describing his recovery as a turning point in his life.
Ruzima had been undergoing treatment at the Huye Isange Rehabilitation Center since November 2025. His admission followed an arrest on November 15, 2025, during which he was accused of using marijuana. At the time, he reportedly told investigators that he had been using the substance since 2022, leading to his referral for medical and rehabilitation support.
Since completing the program, Ruzima has stated that he has returned with what he described as “good character” and a renewed sense of discipline. He has also used his platform to caution others about the risks associated with drug abuse.
Bill Ruzima first gained public attention through the music competition Yemba Voice and has since become a recognized figure in Rwanda’s music scene. He is known for his songwriting skills and distinctive vocals, with popular songs including Imana y’Abakundana and Munda y’Isi.
The comments were first reported by IGIHE, a Rwanda-based media outlet.
