FERWAFA plans to launch its own TV and radio while investing in new stadiums, as part of its ambitious 15.2 billion Frw budget for 2025.

The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) plans to spend 15,297,147,920 Frw in 2025.

From this budget:

  • 7.96 billion Frw will go to football competitions and development.

  • 2.53 billion Frw will be used for FERWAFA operations, including staff salaries.

  • 4.79 billion Frw will be invested in projects like building four stadiums and launching FERWAFA’s own radio and TV.

Out of the budget for competitions and football development, 4.98 billion Frw will be allocated to the national teams, which will compete in tournaments like CECAFA, the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

In 2024, FERWAFA had planned to spend 9.93 billion Frw, with 2.41 billion Frw set aside for national teams.

On February 1, 2025, FERWAFA called its members for a Special General Assembly, which was originally scheduled for February 15 at Radisson Blu, but later moved to Marriott Hotel.

At the meeting on February 8, members were informed about the venue change and the main agenda, which included:

  • Approving the 2025 action plan and budget.

  • Electing members of FERWAFA’s independent bodies, including the Appeals Commission, the Disciplinary Commission, and the Licensing Commission.
