Forward Biramahire Abeddy has revealed that security issues in Mozambique led to his departure from Ferroviário de Nampula and his move to Rayon Sports.

On the final day of the transfer window, January 31, 2025, Rayon Sports announced several new signings, including the Rwandan national team striker, Biramahire.

His signing came as a surprise to many fans, as they did not expect Rayon Sports to secure a deal for a Rwandan forward, especially since he was still under contract with Ferroviário de Nampula.

During his first training session with Rayon Sports, Biramahire explained that returning to Mozambique was never an option due to the situation there.

He stated,

“I still had a contract, but there were security concerns such as protests. My representatives and I discussed the situation, and when Rayon Sports made an offer, I decided to return to Rwanda.”
“Rayon Sports is a great club and the best choice for me. Every player in Rwanda dreams of playing for this team. Now that I’ve signed, I must work hard. I can’t join a team at the top and allow it to fall. Fans should support us until the final minute so we can win the trophy.”

Biramahire signed a six-month contract with Rayon Sports, but it could be extended depending on his performance or negotiations between both parties.

The Rwandan international had joined Ferroviário de Nampula in July 2024 from another Mozambican club, UD Songo.
