Rapper B Threy Calls on Youth and Celebrities to Defend Rwanda Online.

Rwandan rapper B Threy has called on young people, especially celebrities, to stop ignoring national issues. He reminded them that, as influential figures with large audiences, they should be the first to speak up when the country needs their voices.

In an exclusive interview with IGIHE, B Threy expressed concern over how foreign individuals attack Rwanda on social media, yet many young people, even those who know the truth, choose to stay silent.

He believes that for youth—especially famous personalities—to actively defend their country, there needs to be awareness campaigns reminding them of this responsibility.

"It’s important for young people to take the lead and support our country. If people launch a verbal attack against us on social media, it’s not just those in security forces who should respond. Every influential person in society has a role to play,”

 he said.

The rapper suggested organizing campaigns to remind youth and celebrities that they should be at the forefront whenever the country faces online attacks meant to damage its reputation.

He also pointed out a common issue—many young people assume that certain people are already assigned to defend the country, so they think it’s not their responsibility. This, he emphasized, is a false belief that must be corrected.
