Nigerian content creator and skitmaker Zicsaloma has said that individuals seeking to escape poverty must adopt strict financial discipline, including limiting financial support to family and friends.

Zicsaloma made the remarks in a video shared on social media, where he argued that excessive financial responsibilities often prevent people from achieving long-term financial stability.

According to him, what he described as being “financially heartless” is not an act of wickedness but a necessary step to break the cycle of poverty.

“If you know you want to come out of poverty, you need to be financially heartless, even to your direct family and friends,” he said.

The skitmaker explained that many individuals remain financially unstable because they continue to shoulder family obligations that drain their income and prevent savings or investments.

Using his personal experience, Zicsaloma disclosed that he had attempted several business ventures in the past, many of which failed after he diverted funds to address family financial challenges.

He further noted that in low-income households, even modest earnings can attract increased financial expectations from relatives.

Zicsaloma added that the poverty cycle would persist unless individuals exercised discretion and placed limits on their financial generosity.
