Organizers of the upcoming Oldies Festival have announced that media personality and DJ Anita Pendo will host the 2025 edition alongside a lineup of prominent DJs, including DJ Ira, DJ RY, and DJ Karim. The event will also feature Symphony Band for the first time.
Scheduled for 6 December 2025 at Kigali Universe, the festival will offer live performances centered on classic music, blending nostalgic sounds with modern styles. Entrance fees are set at 10,000 Frw for regular seating, 20,000 Frw for VIP, and 200,000 Frw for table reservations.
Festival organizer Basile Uwimana told IGIHE that this year’s edition is designed to elevate women’s participation in entertainment, particularly in DJing and emceeing roles. He noted that previous editions were dominated by male performers, prompting organizers to intentionally include more women.
The last Oldies Festival, held on 26 July 2025 at the same venue, attracted a large audience and included awards for standout vintage fashion, among them actor Mugisha Emmanuel, popularly known as Clapton Kibonge.
Beyond the main concert, the festival traditionally hosts discussions on the history of Rwandan music, fashion insights from experts, and exhibitions showcasing artists and illustrators. Such festivals worldwide often celebrate cultural evolution, with attendees embracing retro attire to honor past eras of music and style.
