Ngozi Nwosu Illness: Biography, Career and Health Update

Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has asked the public for financial help after spending three weeks in hospital and being told she needs three surgeries.

In a video posted on Instagram on Thursday, July 23, 2026, Nwosu said she was in pain and that her condition had become more than she could manage alone. She said the total cost of the surgeries was ₦30 million.

The actress did not disclose her diagnosis, the types of surgery she needs or when the procedures will take place. Claims assigning a specific illness to her current hospital stay are therefore unconfirmed.

Nwosu appeared in a hospital video and told fans that she had been admitted for three weeks.

“I need your help. Don’t let me die,” she said during the appeal, adding that she had “like three surgeries” to undergo.

In the caption accompanying the video, the actress said asking publicly for help had been difficult but that she could no longer remain silent. She asked fans, friends, relatives and colleagues to share the appeal and support her if they could.

The amount requested for all three procedures is ₦30 million.

The video was posted on Nwosu’s Instagram account and was reported by several Nigerian news organisations, including The Guardian Nigeria, Legit.ng and The Nation.

As of July 24, no public statement from her management had identified the illness or provided the surgery dates. There was also no independently published medical report explaining her diagnosis.
