A man claims in a viral video that he is Afrobeats star Asake’s biological father and says he gave the child up for adoption years ago.

A man has stirred widespread reactions on social media after claiming that he is the biological father of Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake.

The claim surfaced in a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), where the man shared what he described as a personal story about becoming a father at a young age and giving his child up for adoption.

According to his account, he was a teenage father who felt unprepared to raise a child, leading him to make the decision to give the baby away. He said he later came to regret the choice.

“A lot of people do not know that I was a teenage father. When I was a teenager, I had a son and I ended up giving him up for adoption,” the man said in the video.

He further claimed that the child was originally named Tanimutanku but later adopted another identity and eventually grew into the musician now known globally as Asake.

During the narration, the man admitted that the decision to give up the child was influenced by youthful irresponsibility. He added that if he had known how the future would unfold, he would have chosen to raise the child himself.

“If I had known what the future held, I would have kept and raised him myself so I could witness his success and benefit from it,” he said.

The claim emerged shortly after online reports suggested that the singer had recently surprised both his parents with luxury vehicles worth millions, which further fueled online discussions about his family background.

As of the time of reporting, Asake has not publicly responded to the allegations circulating in the viral video.
