American singer and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks has been confirmed as the headline act for the forthcoming Artistic Pulse Festival (APF), scheduled to take place in Lagos as a five-day celebration of creativity, sustainability and commerce.
The festival, themed “Footprints of Interconnectivity, Growth and Expansion: Creativity, Culture, Commerce and Innovation,” is convened by Dr Ngozi Omambala, Founder and CEO of NMO Management Limited. She described APF as Africa’s first sustainable recycling festival, designed to unite artists, entrepreneurs, innovators and cultural stakeholders within a waste-free ecosystem.
According to Omambala, the event will feature music performances, fashion exhibitions, Nollywood film screenings and art installations, all driven by a sustainability framework. The programme will also include a Children’s Corner and Art Play Zone, offering interactive creative activities aimed at nurturing eco-conscious young creators.
Beyond entertainment, APF will host symposiums, panel discussions and creative industry workshops, bringing together thought leaders to explore the link between culture, commerce and sustainable development.
A central attraction of the festival is the Pan African 11th Annual Music Fashion Runway (MFR), a platform showcasing African designers, international models and performers in a blend of haute couture and live music. The runway has been positioned as a key fixture on the continent’s fashion calendar.
The APF Trade Fair, supported by the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, will provide visibility for small and medium enterprises in fashion, food and technology, offering opportunities for investor engagement and export growth.
Omambala noted that the festival aims to strengthen Nigeria’s creative economy and enhance non-oil exports, citing its potential to unlock significant revenue while creating jobs and supporting tourism.
Jordin Sparks’ performance is expected to draw a diverse audience and reinforce the festival’s global appeal. Organisers say her appearance symbolises growing international recognition of Africa’s creative industry and its capacity for cross-cultural collaboration.
Industry stakeholders, including representatives of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, have stressed the importance of promoting locally made products and preserving cultural identity as Nigeria advances towards a sustainable economic future.
The Artistic Pulse Festival is positioned as a platform to showcase the depth of Nigeria’s creative talent while fostering economic empowerment and cultural preservation.
