FrankCee Builds His Sound From Abuja to the UK

FrankCee is quietly carving out his place in Nigeria's growing Afrobeat scene, taking his music from Abuja stages to audiences in the United Kingdom.

According to The Nation, the singer, whose real name is Franklin Chinonso Diala, has steadily expanded his reach by blending Afrobeat, Afropop and modern African sounds while building a career that stretches beyond Nigeria.

A major turning point came in 2015 when FrankCee signed with UK-based record label Bashrobeat Limited. The partnership led to a promotional tour across Britain, where he introduced international listeners to his single "Marry Me." The tour helped him connect with new audiences and marked the beginning of his international journey.

His time in the UK also saw him work alongside Brightknights Media & Events and Blacknights Entertainment, organisations known for promoting African entertainment abroad. Those collaborations strengthened his presence within the UK's African music community and helped raise his profile outside Nigeria.

Back home, FrankCee has continued to grow his catalogue while collaborating with established Nigerian rapper Magnito. The partnership showcased his ability to move comfortably across different sounds and work alongside recognised names in the industry.

His progress has also been recognised with industry honours. In 2022, he won the Most Promising Artist award at the Abuja Entertainment and Meritorious Awards (ABEMA). Three years later, he added another milestone by receiving the Best Music Artist in Abuja award at the 2025 ABEMA Awards.

As Afrobeat continues to reach bigger global audiences, artists like FrankCee are building careers through consistency rather than hype. With international experience, industry recognition and a growing fan base, the Abuja-born musician appears to be laying a solid foundation for the next chapter of his career.
