Rwandan artist France Mpundu has recorded a new song with Paulo Chakal, one of the rising music figures in Côte d’Ivoire, during her recent stay in the West African country.

Mpundu traveled to Côte d’Ivoire with her partner, Moctar, after arriving from Benin. Since her arrival, the artist has taken part in several professional and cultural activities, including meetings with creatives and visits to media and entertainment institutions.

Among the places visited was Canal+, where Moctar previously gained international attention after winning the reality television show The Secret Story. The visit also included engagements that highlighted their growing visibility within the regional entertainment industry.

During the same trip, Mpundu toured the Sony Music offices in Côte d’Ivoire. Sources familiar with the visit indicate that discussions are ongoing regarding potential collaboration opportunities, although no official announcement has been made.

In addition to these meetings, Mpundu used the opportunity to work musically with Paulo Chakal, a popular Ivorian artist known for the song “Ya Dieu Dedans,” which he recorded alongside renowned rapper Didi B, a leading figure in Francophone West African music.

Details regarding the release date of the new collaboration have not yet been disclosed. Mpundu has also not commented publicly on the outcome of her discussions with Sony Music Afrique. However, sources indicate she is expected to return to Kigali during the end-of-year festive period, when further information about her recent projects may emerge.
