Social media personality Carter Efe has defeated street-hop artist Habeeb “Portable” Badmus in a celebrity boxing match held in Lagos, securing a unanimous decision victory.
The bout took place on Friday night at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, as part of the “Chaos in the Ring 4” event. Judges scored the contest 30–27 in favour of Efe after three rounds.
Following the win, Efe dismissed comparisons to former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and instead introduced a new self-styled ring name.
“Who called me Anthony Joshua? My name is Carter Mayweather,” he said during his post-fight interview, drawing reactions from the crowd.
Efe’s performance in the ring was described as dominant, with the comedian claiming he gained control early in the fight.
“The fight was so easy. By the first round, I had made his face swell up. By the second round, he was already shaking. Third round, he fell,” he said.
The victory ends Portable’s run as a leading figure in Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing scene, as Efe emerged as the new standout name in the sport.
Speaking after the match, Efe expressed confidence in his development and hinted at ambitions beyond the local stage.
“I am feeling like an international world star,” he said, adding that he hopes to take his boxing career to a global level.
He also credited his success to faith, saying he believes greater opportunities lie ahead.
“I just believed in God. If you believe in God, anything can happen. I want to try this again in an international way,” he said.
When asked about a potential rematch with Portable, Efe declined to give a definitive answer, stating he would consider it after taking time to rest.
The fight adds to the rising popularity of celebrity boxing events in Nigeria, where entertainers increasingly step into the ring as part of crossover entertainment.
