The feud between the two artists began in 2019 following tensions linked to social media exchanges during the Africa Cup of Nations. The situation escalated after AKA shared screenshots of messages he claimed were abusive and sent by Nigerian users, leading to heated reactions and public statements from both camps.


okhas now clarified that the dispute was later settled privately. In a birthday tribute posted on his Instagram page, the singer said the reconciliation took place through direct messages, away from public attention.


He expressed regret that despite ending their disagreement, the two musicians never met in person or collaborated musically before AKA’s passing. Burna Boy described the fallout as unnecessary and said the missed opportunity would remain a personal regret.


AKA, born Kiernan Forbes, was shot and killed outside a restaurant in Durban, South Africa, on February 10, 2023. Authorities have confirmed that the trial connected to his murder is still ongoing.
