Bien is a Kenyan singer, songwriter, guitarist and music executive who first became widely known as a co-founder and lead vocalist of Sauti Sol. Music entered his life well before the professional years. Bien has said that Bob Marley’s “Iron Lion Zion” captured his imagination when he was six. The three sang together as the a cappella group Voices in the Light before guitarist Polycarp Otieno joined after school and helped complete the line-up that became Sauti Sol.
