About the Artist – Marina (Rwanda)
Marina, born Uwase Ingabire Marina on August 28, 1997, in Rwamagana District, Eastern Province of Rwanda, is a celebrated Rwandan singer and songwriter. She began her musical journey singing in church choirs during her early years. Marina gained national recognition in 2017 after winning the "Sing and Win" competition on Kiss FM, where she performed "Urwo Ngukunda" by Buravan and Uncle Austin. This victory led to her debut single, "Byarara Bibaye," which became a hit across Rwanda .
Following her initial success, Marina collaborated with Uncle Austin and later signed with The Mane Music label in 2018, becoming their first artist. Under The Mane, she released several popular tracks, including "Ni Wowe," "Madede," and "Mbwira" featuring Kidum. In 2021, Marina parted ways with The Mane and began working with renowned artist manager Alex Muyoboke as a special advisor to further her career .
Marina's music blends Afrobeats, R&B, and Afro-soul, showcasing her powerful vocals and emotional depth. Her collaborations span across East Africa, featuring artists like Safi Madiba ("True Love"), Harmonize ("Love You"), and Ykee Benda ("Ndokose"). She continues to captivate audiences with her dynamic performances and heartfelt lyrics.
