Armed thugs attacked a fuel station in Mukono, killing two guards and stealing Shs 3M. Police recovered a gun and launched investigations.

Police are investigating a deadly robbery that happened early Thursday morning at Chard Energy fuel station along Katosi Road in Mukono District.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, two unknown attackers stormed the station at around 4:02 am. They used a blunt object to kill two security guards who were on duty.

The guards were identified as 50-year-old Senabulya Deo and 25-year-old Onyaiti Joseph. After killing them, the robbers took their gun, which had five bullets.

They then went after the pump attendants—Tessa Jovita (23) and Domanye Kevin (22). The thugs stole about Shs 3 million in cash from them, along with their mobile phones.

Onyango said the criminals later dropped the stolen gun near a railway line before fleeing the area.

The police have since visited the crime scene, collected evidence, and taken the bodies of the deceased to Mulago Hospital for a post-mortem exam.

This robbery is one of several violent attacks recently targeting petrol stations across Uganda. Investigations are still ongoing.
