Young Thug, also known as Jeffery Williams, leaves court after pleading guilty to gang-related charges, concluding a high-profile case in Georgia's longest-running trial.

Atlanta rapper Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, pleaded guilty to charges related to criminal street gang activity in court on Thursday, concluding his part in Georgia’s longest trial. Williams admitted to six counts, including drug and firearm possession, following nearly a year of challenging witness testimony that complicated the state’s case.

Judge Paige Reese Whitaker sentenced Williams to time served and 15 years of probation. Fulton County jail records show he was released Thursday night.

Williams, 33, appeared straightforward in his admissions before expressing remorse to the court. Prosecutors had previously portrayed him as “King Slime,” alleging he led a gang responsible for violence, robbery, and drug activity in Atlanta over the last decade alongside his music career.

The guilty plea followed a tense moment when Judge Whitaker asked if Williams was willing to take a non-negotiated plea, as a sentencing deal could not be reached. Williams briefly consulted with his attorneys before deciding to accept, ending the lengthy case.
