Rwandan singer Teta Diana, known for her traditional music style, performed in Kigali after two years of living in Europe. The event, held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Atelier du Vin, was part of a cultural show titled "Ingata y'Umuco." Other performers included Umukondo Gatore, Itorero Inganzo Ngari, and Boukuru, who showcased their talent in singing and dancing with a focus on Rwandan traditions.

Teta closed the show, performing her own songs and covers of popular Rwandan classics like "Ihorere Munyana" and "Mpore." She also performed tracks from her 2019 album Iwanyu and the 2021 EP Umugwegwe.

One highlight was her song "None n'Ejo," dedicated to women and girls, inspired by her mother and grandmother. She said,

“I wrote this song thinking of my mom, grandmother, and all the women who made my existence possible. I dedicate it to all women.”

Another emotional moment was when she sang "Birangwa," a song she wrote in memory of her late father, saying,

“This is not just my story; it’s a universal one.”

Teta Diana also brought on stage Impakanizi, a rising traditional artist, who performed his song "Ingabe" to great applause. Reflecting on her time in Europe, Teta remarked,

"Europe is beautiful, but it feels cold compared to home."

Living in Sweden, Teta Diana hadn’t performed in Rwanda for two years, making this event a memorable return for her fans.
