Marina addresses fans during her performance in Rubavu, dismissing rumors about undergoing surgery and promising new music before the year ends.

Marina has denied recent rumors claiming she underwent surgery to enhance her hips. She said these claims were false and hurtful, especially when she was hospitalized with malaria, and people misunderstood her condition.

In an interview with IGIHE after her performance in Rubavu District on November 30, 2024, Marina addressed the rumors, saying,

“When I saw those messages, they made me so angry because I knew it wasn’t true. I had malaria, but they turned it into something else. Anyone who follows social media saw it. I didn’t like it because it was all lies.”

When asked directly if she had surgery, she replied,

“The truth is I don’t do such things. May God protect me from it.”

Marina joked about the rumors, saying she has actually lost weight.

“I’ve even slimmed down. Firstborns gain weight differently—when you lose weight, your stomach flattens, and your hips stand out. I don’t know why they don’t understand that,”

she said.

She emphasized that the claims were lies and promised her fans new music before the end of the year.

Marina was one of the artists performing at an event to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS in Rubavu District, alongside Riderman, Platini, Juno Kizigenza, and Niyo Bosco.
