ATLANTA, Ga. – Wanda Smith, a revered comedian and radio personality, has passed away at the age of 58, as confirmed by her colleague Darian “Big Tigger” Morgan.
Originally from Miami, Smith became a staple in Atlanta's entertainment scene, most notably as the co-host of the "Frank and Wanda in the Morning" radio show alongside Frank Ski, from 1998 to 2012, and later with Ryan Cameron who joined as co-host in 2014. Frank Ski returned to the show in 2018, reuniting the iconic duo.
Smith gained widespread attention in 2018 during a heated interview with comedian Katt Williams, where the interaction escalated following Williams’ critique of her interviewing style. The incident extended beyond the airwaves, culminating in an altercation involving Smith's husband, LaMorris Sellers, and Williams at the Atlanta Comedy Theater. No charges were pressed by Williams following the confrontation.
In addition to her radio career, Smith showcased her talents in various films within the Madea franchise and contributed as a writer for Def Comedy Jam, leaving a lasting impact on comedy and radio.
