Jason Isaacs shares his post-nomination plans, upcoming films, and renewed focus on storytelling after The White Lotus acclaim. Jason Isaacs Outlines Upcoming Projects After Golden Globes Nomination Jason Isaacs shares his post-nomination plans, upcoming films, and renewed focus on storytelling after The White Lotus acclaim. Published: December 9, 2025 at 9:35:10 AM Modified: December 11, 2025 at 7:55:10 AM Written By | Witty Pascal Entertainment Editor Witty Pascal Jason Isaacs is moving quickly back into work after receiving his first Golden Globes nomination for his role in The White Lotus Season 3. The actor earned wide praise for portraying Tim Ratliff, a white-collar criminal with a calculating and charismatic edge. While the nomination marks a significant achievement, Isaacs explained that his focus is already on new projects. He noted that the extensive publicity commitments for the HBO series were valuable but not where his main interest lies. “I was thrilled to go back to work because we all spent the better part of the year doing publicity,” he said. “While I’m privileged and proud to be part of the show, that’s not what I do for a living.” Isaacs said returning to set helped him reconnect with the core of his craft. “I’ve just done three films back-to-back,” he added. “I feel excited again, energised about what I’m supposed to do, which is tell stories.” The actor confirmed he will soon travel to New York for what he described as routine commitments, adding that the work involves meeting various collaborators. Isaacs has recently completed three upcoming films. He wrapped Victorian Psycho in Dublin, followed by Eleven Days , directed by Peter Landesman and featuring Diego Luna and Rhea Seehorn. Most recently, he reunited with Gillian Anderson for The Julia Set , after previously working together on The Salt Path , which he described as a positive experience. With new projects completed and awards recognition elevating his profile, Isaacs enters a busy phase of his career that audiences will be watching closely. Published: June 8, 2024 at 8:05:02 PM Modified: June 14, 2024 at 5:51:46 AM The trial of 51 individuals, including three Americans, accused of attempting to overthrow President Félix Tshisekedi in the Democratic Republic of Congo, began yesterday. The proceedings, broadcast live on national TV and radio, are held at N’dolo military prison in Kinshasa. The defendants, wearing blue-and-yellow shirts, were arrested during attacks on the presidential palace and the home of an ally of President Tshisekedi. They face charges of financing terrorism, murder, and attempted assassination. The US State Department reported it has not been given access to the American detainees. The failed coup on May 19 resulted in six deaths, including suspected leader Christian Malanga. Arrests followed at the Palais de la Nation and the residence of Vital Kamerhe, the parliamentary speaker. The assailants were linked to the New Zaire Movement, led by Malanga, a formerly exiled politician with US citizenship. His son, Marcel Malanga, and 21-year-old Tyler Thompson are among the US nationals detained. Thompson's family expressed shock over his involvement, citing videos showing him being beaten by Congolese security forces. Other defendants include a Congolese-Belgian national and a Canadian citizen originally from DR Congo. An investigation is ongoing into alleged executions by soldiers who thwarted the coup. Mukwege expresses deep concerns after Luxembourg blocked sanctions against Rwanda. Feb 28, 2025 Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp Copy link Nobel Prize winner Dr. Denis Mukwege Nobel Prize winner Dr. Denis Mukwege has urged the African Union and regional institutions to take immediate action regarding the occupation of certain areas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) by Rwanda. His call comes after the Luxembourg minister blocked European sanctions against Rwanda. On his X account, Dr. Mukwege highlighted that during this time, Congolese people continue to be killed, children are forcibly recruited, and women suffer from sexual violence. "African states and public opinion on our continent cannot continue to accept this tragedy and scandal without reacting," he warned. He further stated: "We ask African leaders to show their solidarity with the Congolese people and take responsibility by implementing the fundamental principles of our founding treaties. Let us not wait for the Western world to share more humanity with the Congolese people than African leaders themselves! All Africans will be watching Harare this weekend." Dr. Mukwege believes that now is not the time to give the world another excuse for inaction, allowing the situation to worsen and threaten peace and development in Africa. - “I Hate Kagame and the Inkotanyi” – Moses Turahirwa Breaks His Silence on a Painful Past | Xtrafrica Media Group https://static.wixstatic.com/media/67cd72_0979942d9f424150b5647df5ed83269c~mv2.webp
Rwandan designer Moses Turahirwa says he hates Paul Kagame and the Inkotanyi regime, revealing years of trauma and injustice in emotional social media posts. “I Hate Kagame and the Inkotanyi” – Moses Turahirwa Breaks His Silence on a Painful Past The Editorial Staff Apr 13, 2025 Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp Copy link Moses Twahirwa - Fashion Designer Rwandan fashion designer Moses Turahirwa , founder of the world-famous brand Moshions , has shocked the nation with emotional and painful revelations about his past and a direct attack on President Paul Kagame and the Inkotanyi regime . "I cried all night when the First Lady told me Kagame would wear the shirt I designed," Moses wrote on Instagram. “I grew up hating him.” This message was not just fashion drama. It was a cry from a man carrying deep trauma and scars from a regime he says destroyed his childhood, tore apart his family, and used his success as a political image. From Tailoring Presidents to Telling the Truth Moses is known as one of Rwanda’s biggest fashion stars. His work has walked international runways. His label, Moshions , was once proudly worn by the Rwandan elite, including Paul Kagame himself. But behind the brand was a personal hell. Moses revealed that his father, a Christian pastor , was arrested by Inkotanyi soldiers and beaten without cause. Moses was only six years old. “Inkotanyi beat my father while he tried to greet me. They locked him up like a criminal. I never forgot that,” he said. In another shocking post, he says his digital passport was manipulated by the government , leading to a 76-day jail stay in Mageragere prison . “That’s how I ended up in jail. They changed my passport. They wanted to silence me.” Ange Kagame Accused of Ordering a Raid One post even accused Kagame’s daughter, Ange Kagame , of sending troops to search Moses’ home for marijuana: “That’s how Ange Kagame sent troops to search my house/office for weed?!” Moses did not hold back. He said he will never forgive Kagame or the Inkotanyi for what they did to his family and to many others. "Sindabababarira Kagame n’Inkotanyi Zose" Moses repeated this chilling phrase more than once: "I will never forgive Kagame or any of the Inkotanyi. Not now, not ever." He called out Kagame's regime for abusing power, using national resources to promote fear, and trying to silence all voices of truth. He asked a haunting question: "Nubu turacyahirwa?" (Are we still being hunted?) Behind the Regime’s Smile, a Dictator’s Grip This moment is symbolic. The same regime that once celebrated Moses for promoting "Made in Rwanda" is now exposed as the one that traumatized him and used him for image. “He wore my shirt. But he imprisoned my heart.” This is not just fashion. It’s rebellion. It’s truth. And it’s brave. READ ALSO | America Rejects Kagame’s One-Sided Genocide Narrative The Bigger Picture: Kagame’s Long Trail of Silencing Critics Moses now joins a long list of Rwandans artists, journalists, politicians who dared to speak out and paid the price. From Paul Rusesabagina to Diane Rwigara , Kagame’s regime has a dark history of jailing , exiling , or even disappearing critics. But Moses is still speaking. “I’m not afraid anymore.” For years, Moses Turahirwa stitched elegance into clothes worn by the very system that oppressed him. Today, he is stitching together truth and resistance. As Rwanda continues to silence critical voices, Moses’ voice rises louder, not just as a designer, but as a witness, a victim, and a fighter. Juno Kizigenza explains on-stage kiss with Ariel Wayz Juno Kizigenza says his on-stage kiss with Ariel Wayz at Davido’s BK Arena show was a spontaneous act driven by excitement, not personal reasons. Published: December 6, 2025 at 7:37:17 AM Modified: December 6, 2025 at 9:56:48 AM Written By | Witty Pascal Entertainment Editor Witty Pascal Rwandan singer and songwriter Juno Kizigenza has clarified the reason behind his on-stage kiss with fellow artist Ariel Wayz during Davido’s “5IVE” album launch concert, stating it was an expression of excitement rather than a gesture tied to their past relationship. The concert, sponsored by SKOL through its Skol Malt brand, took place at BK Arena on Friday, December 5, 2025. Upon arriving on stage, Juno told fans he would begin 2026 with a new album, the follow-up to his previous project Yaraje . He performed several of his popular tracks including “Jaja,” “Birenze,” “Shenge,” “Igitangaza,” “Yaraje,” and “Kurura.” Mid-performance, Juno invited Ariel Wayz to join him for their collaborative song “Away,” prompting loud cheers from the crowd familiar with the history of their former relationship. The pair performed the track together before sharing a brief kiss, a moment that drew strong reactions and reignited public memories of their split in 2021. Speaking to InyaRwanda.com after the show, Juno said the kiss had no deeper meaning. “It means I was happy, nothing more. We have to give fans a show,” he said, adding that the gesture was purely driven by the energy of the moment and the warm reception from fans inside BK Arena. Ariel Wayz has continued to build a notable presence in Rwandan music in recent years, while her past collaboration with Juno, especially the song “Away,” remains meaningful to many fans despite their separation in late 2021. The unexpected on-stage moment left attendees speculating about whether it signaled renewed emotions or simply performance showmanship. Beyond the kiss, Davido’s concert recorded high attendance, strong performances and memorable highlights, marking December 5, 2025, as a significant night for Rwanda’s music scene. Captain Planet Speaks on Online Scams and Digital Oversharing Captain Planet says excessive social media sharing exposes people to scrutiny, warning about digital footprints and online behavior. Published: December 18, 2025 at 12:48:41 PM Modified: December 18, 2025 at 12:52:37 PM Written By | Witty Pascal Entertainment Editor Witty Pascal Former 4X4 music group member Captain Planet has shared his views on why individuals involved in online romance scams are often apprehended, pointing to excessive social media activity as a key factor. In a post shared on X, the musician argued that regularly posting personal details, displaying wealth, or maintaining a highly visible online presence makes it easier for authorities to track individuals. He suggested that discretion and limited digital exposure reduce the risk of scrutiny. Captain Planet cautioned social media users against oversharing personal information, noting that online platforms can serve as tools for surveillance by law enforcement agencies. According to him, maintaining a low profile is essential in the digital age. He also questioned what he described as inconsistencies in the justice system, suggesting that public officials accused of corruption often avoid imprisonment, while ordinary citizens face tougher consequences. The comments generated widespread discussion online, with users debating privacy, responsible social media use, and the broader risks associated with revealing too much personal information on digital platforms. Published: May 27, 2024 at 10:19:42 AM Modified: May 27, 2024 at 10:32:46 AM Kenya's President Ruto Appointing New Chief of Defense Forces Kenya’s designation as a major non-NATO ally by the US significantly elevates its role in regional and international security. This status was announced during President William Ruto’s historic state visit to the US, where he discussed the deployment of 1,000 Kenyan police officers to Haiti with President Joe Biden. Enhanced Military Capabilities Kenya, now the first sub-Saharan African nation with this status, gains privileged access to advanced military equipment, training, and financial assistance for defense. This support is vital as Kenya continues its fight against al-Shabab in Somalia and manages security challenges along its borders. Strategic Peacekeeping Roles Kenya’s track record in regional peace initiatives, such as mediating the Ethiopia-Tigray peace deal and engaging in the Great Lakes region's conflicts, underscores its reliability. The US's $200 million pledge for Kenya's UN-backed Haiti mission is a testament to Washington's confidence in Nairobi's capabilities. Countering Global Influence Kenya's upgraded status also helps the US counter growing Russian and Chinese influence in Africa . With enhanced security cooperation, Kenya can bolster intelligence gathering and strategic deployments, addressing threats more effectively. Learning from Other African Nations Other African nations, such as Tunisia, Morocco, and Egypt, have seen significant military advancements due to their non-NATO ally status. Tunisia's military reforms, Egypt's longstanding US support, and Morocco's counterterrorism expertise highlight the potential benefits for Kenya. In summary, Kenya's new status as a major non-NATO ally strengthens its defense capabilities, enhances its regional peacekeeping role, and positions it as a key US partner in Africa. This strategic partnership is crucial for addressing security challenges and promoting stability in the region. ADVERTISEMENT Keep Reading
Every day, XtrAfrica highlights a World Cup record. Today’s spotlight is on Paolo Rossi, whose remarkable journey in the 1982 FIFA World Cup™ led him to win the adidas Golden Boot. Credit:oguntoday Published: July 1, 2024 at 6:44:22 AM Modified: July 1, 2024 at 5:10:15 PM A storm had erupted into a tsunami. Controversy surrounded Paolo Rossi's inclusion in Italy's squad for the 1982 FIFA World Cup™ over Roberto Pruzzo, who had just won back-to-back Capocannonieri titles. Rossi, sidelined by the Totonero scandal, had only played three matches in two seasons. After a dismal first round, the Italian public was outraged. Rossi, failing to score in the group stage, faced immense pressure. Italy, despite being in a supposedly easy group, advanced behind Poland, narrowly beating Cameroon on goal difference. Calls grew louder for coach Enzo Bearzot to replace Rossi with Alessandro Altobelli. Nevertheless, Bearzot persisted with Rossi, ignoring the outcry. Italy scraped past Argentina with a 2-1 win, but Rossi remained goalless, extending his scoring drought for Italy to over three years. The 25-year-old faced harsh criticism, with his private life, attitude, and performance under intense scrutiny. “The pressure I was under was volcanic,” Rossi recalled. “Football is everything to Italians. I was blamed for everything. The press was relentless. I tried to ignore it, but it affected me.” The night before Italy’s crucial match against Brazil, Bearzot visited Rossi’s hotel room. Rossi expected to be dropped, but instead, Bearzot engaged him in a discussion about cubist and surrealist painters like Picasso and Dali to calm his nerves. The unconventional approach worked. Rossi delivered one of the most remarkable performances in World Cup history, scoring a hat-trick to eliminate the title favorites Brazil and end their 24-game unbeaten streak. He then scored twice against Poland in the semi-finals and netted the opener in Italy's 3-1 victory over West Germany in the final. Rossi’s turnaround was extraordinary . Before Italy's fifth game, Zbigniew Boniek, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, and Zico each had four goals, while Rossi had none. Yet, Rossi finished as the tournament's top scorer with the adidas Golden Boot, a feat unmatched by any player who had taken so long to score in the tournament. Zico,Paolo Rossi and Karl Heinz Rummenigge poses with the Bronze Boot Golden Boot and Silver Boot awards from the 1982 FIFA World Cup. Credit:FIFA “No other coach would have kept picking me,” said Rossi. “Bearzot’s confidence in me was fundamental. The first goal against Brazil was the most important of my career. It gave me back my confidence. A goal can change everything. For me, it changed my entire life.” ADVERTISEMENT Keep Reading
