  • Ruger Says He Doesn't Mind Dating Unemployed Women

Ruger says a woman's income doesn't matter to him, reveals he's seeking a funny partner and hopes to settle down soon. Afrobeats star Ruger has opened up about what he looks for in a relationship, saying a woman's job or financial status has never influenced his dating choices. According to Daily Post Nigeria , the singer, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, shared his views during a recent livestream with content creator Shank, where he spoke about love, money and his plans for the future. Ruger explained that he is financially secure enough not to judge a potential partner by her income. He said he has dated women who were unemployed in the past, including some he described as lazy, but insisted that their financial situation was never a deal-breaker for him. Instead, the "Asiwaju" hitmaker said personality matters much more. For him, a sense of humour tops the list of qualities he wants in a partner, describing his ideal woman as someone who can make him laugh. The singer also revealed that he is thinking seriously about settling down. Ruger joked that constantly ordering takeout meals has made him realise he wants a partner to share everyday life with, including having someone at home. Beyond relationships, the musician shared an update on his career, claiming he has earned more than $2 million so far this year. While he did not provide further details about the figure, the disclosure comes as Ruger continues to build his profile through music releases, performances and international appearances. Ruger's latest comments have already sparked conversation online, with fans debating whether financial independence should matter in modern relationships. His remarks also offer a more personal glimpse into the life of one of Nigeria's biggest Afrobeats stars as he balances career success with thoughts of starting a family. • In a significant move towards renewable energy, Egypt announced plans to establish two solar power stations, collectively valued at 1 billion Egyptian pounds (approximately $20.60 million). The projects, which are to be financed by the European Union, underscore Egypt’s commitment to increasing its renewable energy capacity. The first project, costing 550 million Egyptian pounds ($11.46 million), will be situated at the Assiut Oil Refining Company. This facility is designed to generate 10 megawatts of power and is expected to be operational within 11 months. The second initiative, located at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), will produce 6.5 megawatts from a 500 million Egyptian pound ($10.42 million) investment. Both ventures are part of a strategic effort to harness Egypt’s high solar irradiation levels and vast desert landscapes, making them ideal for solar energy production. These developments are part of Egypt’s broader strategy to boost its renewable energy output. The government recently accelerated its renewable energy goals, aiming to produce 42% of its total power generation from renewable sources by 2030, advancing the timeline from the previously set goal of 2035. As the North African nation works to become a renewable energy hub, it faces stiff competition from neighboring regions in North Africa and the Middle East. However, with continued investment and strategic partnerships, Egypt is poised to lead in the transition to sustainable energy sources . • DRC to pursue legal action over illegal mining in Rubaya red zone

DRC government plans legal action over illegal mining in Rubaya after a new landslide tragedy in the conflict-hit North Kivu zone. The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo says it will pursue legal action against individuals and networks benefiting from illegal mining activities in the Rubaya area after a new landslide tragedy struck the conflict-affected mining zone in North Kivu. According to authorities, the incident occurred on Saturday, March 7, 2026, when heavy rains triggered a landslide that engulfed tunnels at the Gakombe mining site, also known as Gatambi Kalambairo, located in the PE-16159 mining perimeter of the Sakima district in Rubaya, Masisi territory . Officials reported that several people were killed, many others were injured and nearby homes were damaged in the village of Kalambairo. The government said that the insecurity of the region which it says remains under the influence of the AFC/M23 armed coalition has limited access to the site , making it difficult for independent actors to establish an exact casualty toll. In a statement issued on Sunday, Kinshasa said the tragedy highlights the extreme dangers facing civilians working in unstable tunnels in an area where artisanal mining has continued despite security risks. “The repetition of these tragic events once again highlights the extreme risks to which civilian populations are exposed in this mining area, particularly artisanal miners and children,” the government said. Authorities reiterated that the Rubaya mining area has been officially classified as a “red zone,” meaning that extraction, processing and marketing of minerals from the site are formally prohibited under Congolese regulations. The government argues that the continued exploitation of the mines constitutes a violation of national law and safety standards in a territory affected by armed conflict. Kinshasa also accused the Rwandan-backed AFC/M23 coalition of organizing illegal mineral exploitation in the region to sustain what it described as a “war economy.” Officials said legal measures are being prepared to bring before competent courts all actors who benefit, directly or indirectly, from the mining operations in the occupied zone. Authorities also indicated that efforts are underway to document human-rights violations and track illegal mineral trading networks originating from conflict-affected areas. The Congolese government called on the international community to take note of the scale of the tragedy and the risks linked to the exploitation of natural resources in territories under armed occupation. They are often described as semi-nomadic pastoralists because livestock is central to their way of life. Many Himba families live in homesteads made up of extended family members. These homesteads are connected to cattle, goats, sheep, family authority, and religious life. During dry seasons, some family members may move with animals to find water and grazing land. The Himba should not be described as people “stuck in the past.” Their culture is living, changing, and adapting to drought, schooling, religion, tourism, land pressure, and modern government systems. Clothing and Appearance Himba women wear traditional garments, jewelry, and distinctive hairstyles that reflect age, status, and cultural identity. Himba clothing and adornment are among the most visible parts of their culture. Women are especially known for using otjize, a red paste made from ochre and butterfat, sometimes mixed with aromatic resin.Otjize is used for beauty, skin care, and protection from the harsh climate. It also gives Himba women’s skin and hair a red tone that has become strongly associated with Himba identity.Hairstyles and jewelry can show age, gender, marital status, and social position. These styles should not be treated as simple decoration. They are part of a wider cultural language. Religion and Beliefs Himba religious life includes belief in Mukuru, often described as a creator or high god. Ancestors are also very important. ADVERTISEMENT One central feature is the okuruwo, or sacred fire. The sacred fire connects the living family with the ancestors. It is usually located within the homestead and cared for by a fire keeper. Through the sacred fire, families maintain spiritual relationships with those who came before them. This makes religion closely tied to family, land, cattle, and memory. Marriage and Family Traditions Marriage among the Himba is complex and varies by context. First marriages are often arranged by families. Later marriages may involve more personal choice, including love matches. Polygyny is documented in Himba society, meaning that a man may have more than one wife. Each wife may have her own hut within the homestead. Some sources also report child betrothal or early arranged marriage. This is a sensitive topic and should be written about carefully. Evidence from academic sources says that while young girls may be betrothed, marriage is not supposed to be consummated before puberty. Women may have more autonomy than outsiders sometimes assume, especially in matters such as divorce and later partner choice. This is why simple claims like “Himba women have no choice” are too broad. Food and Cuisine Himba food is strongly connected to livestock. Milk and sour milk are important foods. Meat may also be eaten, though livestock are not slaughtered casually because animals represent wealth and security. Common foods include: • Sour milk • Maize porridge • Millet or sorghum-based foods where available • Meat on certain occasions • Eggs • Wild herbs • Honey and gathered foods when available ADVERTISEMENT Food habits can change with drought, poverty, markets, and modern goods. Some recent studies also show that drought has pushed some Himba communities to rely more on gardens and other survival strategies. Ceremonies and Rituals Himba ceremonies include rites connected to birth, puberty, marriage, death, ancestors, and the sacred fire. Sources mention initiation rites for boys and girls. Boys may undergo circumcision. Girls may have rites connected to menarche, guided by older women. Dance and music are also part of social life. A University of Namibia source identifies Ondjongo as a dance among Ovazemba and Ovahimba communities, performed at social celebrations by both men and women. For some details of Himba ceremonies, evidence is limited in public academic sources. Where evidence is thin, it is better to avoid overclaiming. Role of Women Himba women perform a traditional song and dance during a cultural gathering in northern Namibia, showcasing the community’s rich heritage, distinctive attire, and ancestral traditions. Women play central roles in Himba society. They care for children, prepare food, maintain homes, process milk, make or wear body adornment, and help preserve social identity through dress, hair, and family life. Women also have documented forms of autonomy. Academic research notes that divorce can happen, later marriages may involve personal choice, and women may return to natal kin if a marriage ends. At the same time, Himba women may face pressure from arranged marriage, rural poverty, limited schooling, and gender expectations. Both realities can exist at once. Music, Dance and Arts Himba artistic expression includes body decoration, hairstyles, jewelry, leatherwork, and performance traditions. Otjize, hair design, and adornment are not only about beauty. They communicate identity, age, social status, and belonging. Because these practices are living heritage, researchers stress that Himba communities should be involved in how their culture is documented and represented. For detailed music and dance traditions beyond Ondjongo, Insufficient evidence found. Trending Now US Democrats' Rwanda Record: Peaceful Change and Congo Sovereignty . Many communities face drought, environmental pressure, schooling, Christianity, tourism, mining, land-use rules, and proposed development projects. Some Himba people welcome parts of modern life, such as better tools, transport, education, and health services. Others worry that modern systems may weaken language, pastoral knowledge, land rights, and family traditions. A 2024 academic study found that Himba communities in Kunene are dealing with cultural and land-use changes linked to modernization, education, religion, globalization, and environmental stress. The Himba are not disappearing, but their way of life is under pressure. The most accurate way to describe Himba culture is as living, adaptive, and challenged. Common Misconceptions The Himba are untouched by modern life This is not accurate. Himba communities have long been affected by drought, colonial history, war, schooling, government policies, religion, tourism, markets, and development projects. “Himba culture is only about red ochre Otjize is important, but Himba culture also includes language, cattle, kinship, sacred fire, land use, marriage, food, dance, and modern rights issues. • Two in custody after KSh11m ivory haul in Namanga; manhunt underway

Two suspects are in custody after a Namanga hotel operation seized 110kg of elephant tusks; police say a third suspect fled and is being sought. Kenyan authorities say two suspects are in custody after an intelligence-led operation in Namanga recovered elephant tusks weighing about 110 kilograms, while a third suspect is being pursued after allegedly fleeing as officers moved in at a hotel where an ivory deal was suspected. According to the account published by Kenyans , a multi-agency team drawn from the National Police Service (NPS) and Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) acted on intelligence that a major ivory transaction was about to occur in the border town. Officers reportedly went to a local hotel where suspects were believed to be meeting a potential buyer. At the hotel, officers reportedly found two Tanzanian nationals in the company of a Kenyan citizen. The report says that when law enforcement identified themselves, one of the Tanzanian suspects escaped, triggering a manhunt, while the remaining two suspects were arrested and taken into custody for questioning. Investigators say the arrested suspects later led officers to parked vehicles, where additional exhibits were recovered. The report states that a Toyota Mark X linked to one suspect contained 20 pieces of tusks, weighing about 110kg, concealed in the boot. In a second vehicle a Nissan Fairland officers reportedly recovered a weighing machine, which investigators treated as evidence of active trading. The report says the tusks, vehicles and other exhibits were seized, and the suspects were taken to Namanga Police Station pending processing and arraignment. Why the “manhunt” element matters in trafficking cases Once a suspect flees at the point of interdiction, investigators often shift quickly from seizure-and-arrest to identifying support networks who arranged transport, storage, buyers and communications. International anti-wildlife crime forums have repeatedly emphasised integrated enforcement customs, police and environmental authorities working together because trafficking networks frequently operate across jurisdictions and supply chains . • South Africa ETA 2026: Eligibility, Requirements & How to Apply

South Africa will officially launch its Electronic Travel Authorisation on 12 August 2026. Here is who can currently apply, which airports are supported... South Africa is preparing to officially launch its new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system on 12 August 2026 , a major step in the country's move toward digital immigration and faster border processing. President Cyril Ramaphosa is scheduled to launch the system at OR Tambo International Airport alongside Home Affairs Minister Dr Leon Schreiber and Border Management Authority Commissioner Dr Michael Masiapato. But travellers need to understand one important point before rushing to apply: The official launch does not mean that every foreign traveller can already use the ETA. As of 6 August 2026 , the live Department of Home Affairs ETA registration portal currently allows registration only for eligible adults who are citizens of China, India, Indonesia or Mexico and who plan to enter South Africa through OR Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport or Lanseria International Airport . The system is expected to expand, so travellers should check the official portal before making travel or visa decisions. Quick Answer South Africa's Electronic Travel Authorisation is a digital travel permission linked electronically to a traveller's passport. The Department of Home Affairs says the ETA is intended to allow eligible travellers from visa-required countries to travel to South Africa for tourism or visitor purposes without going through the traditional visitor-visa process. The official portal also states that eligible visa-exempt travellers may use the ETA to facilitate faster border processing. The ETA does not give a traveller the right to work in South Africa. The official portal also states that eligible visa-exempt travellers may use the ETA to facilitate faster border processing. The ETA does not give a traveller the right to work in South Africa. As of 6 August 2026, the current registration screen requires applicants to be: Citizens of China, India, Indonesia or Mexico 18 years or older Holders of a valid ordinary passport Travelling through OR Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport or Lanseria International Airport Able to take a live selfie and scan their passport using a smart device The registration screen also currently states that the ordinary passport must not expire within 19 months . Because the system is still being rolled out, applicants should re-check the live portal immediately before applying. When Does South Africa's ETA Officially Launch? President Cyril Ramaphosa is scheduled to officially launch the ETA on Wednesday, 12 August 2026 , at OR Tambo International Airport. According to The Presidency, the system was piloted during South Africa's G20 Presidency and will become a major part of the Department of Home Affairs' digital-transformation programme. The government says the system combines: Biometric identity verification Machine-learning technology The upgraded Electronic Movement Control System, known as eMCS 2.0 Digital travel-authorisation processing More automated border controls The aim is to make legitimate travel faster while strengthening identity verification and border security. The launch should therefore be viewed as the beginning of a broader rollout rather than proof that every nationality or South African port of entry is immediately covered. Which Countries Can Currently Apply for the South Africa ETA? As of 6 August 2026 , the official ETA registration screen lists only four nationalities: Country Current Registration Access China Yes India Yes Indonesia Yes Mexico Yes This list can change as Home Affairs expands the system. Travellers from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other countries should not assume that the ETA is available to them simply because the national system is being officially launched. If your nationality is not accepted by the live ETA registration page, follow the normal visa or visa-exemption process applicable to your passport. Which Airports Currently Accept ETA Travellers? The live ETA eligibility screen currently identifies three supported airports: OR Tambo International Airport — Johannesburg Cape Town International Airport — Cape Town Lanseria International Airport — Gauteng The registration portal specifically warns travellers planning to use another port of entry to follow the standard immigration process. That means travellers should not assume that an ETA can currently be used at: King Shaka International Airport A land border A seaport A smaller international airport Any other entry point not listed by the Department of Home Affairs This is especially important for travellers entering South Africa by road from neighbouring countries. What Is a South African ETA? An ETA is a digital travel authorisation . Unlike a traditional visa sticker or physical visa label, the authorisation is electronically linked to the passport used during the application. The official portal says eligible ETA holders may travel multiple times during the validity period of their authorisation. However, an ETA is intended for authorised short visitor or tourism travel. It is not designed to permit repeated extended stays for other purposes. ADVERTISEMENT Most importantly: A South African ETA does not authorise employment in South Africa. Anyone planning to take employment, undertake activities requiring a work visa or relocate under another immigration category must use the appropriate immigration route. ETA vs eVisa vs Visa Exemption: What Is the Difference? These terms are easy to confuse. Electronic Travel Authorisation The ETA is South Africa's newer digital travel-authorisation system. It uses passport information and facial biometrics, and the Department of Home Affairs describes it as a faster digital route for eligible travellers. eVisa South Africa also has an existing eVisa system. An eVisa is an electronically processed visa application through the Department of Home Affairs' online immigration platform. It should not automatically be treated as identical to the newer ETA. A traveller who cannot use the ETA may still need to determine whether the existing eVisa route or a traditional visa application applies to their nationality. Visa Exemption Visa exemption means a passport holder is allowed to visit South Africa for an authorised period without obtaining a visitor visa in advance , subject to immigration rules at the border. Being visa-exempt does not automatically mean that a traveller needs an ETA. The current ETA website says eligible visa-exempt travellers may also use the ETA to facilitate border processing, but travellers should rely on the live official portal to determine whether they are currently able or required to register. Current South Africa ETA Requirements The public ETA registration warning currently lists the following requirements. 1. Eligible Nationality At present, the registration screen accepts citizens of China, India, Indonesia and Mexico. 2. Age The current portal requires the applicant to be 18 years or older . Families travelling with children should therefore not assume that the adult ETA process automatically covers a minor. Check the official system and normal immigration requirements applicable to the child before travel. 3. Ordinary Passport Applicants must hold a valid ordinary passport. The live eligibility page currently states that the passport must not be expiring within 19 months . Because this is a specific operational requirement displayed by the portal and may change during the rollout, applicants should confirm it again when they register. 4. Supported Port of Entry The traveller must currently plan to enter through OR Tambo, Cape Town or Lanseria international airports. 5. Smartphone or Smart Device Applicants need a device capable of: Scanning or photographing the passport Taking a live facial image Accessing the online application system 6. Trip Information The application asks questions about the traveller and the planned journey. Applicants should enter information exactly as it appears in their passport and travel documents. How to Apply for the South Africa ETA The current Department of Home Affairs process is designed to be completed online. Step 1: Use the official government website Go directly to the South African Department of Home Affairs ETA portal. Avoid sponsored search results or websites claiming to be authorised ETA agents unless the Department of Home Affairs has officially identified them. Step 2: Check eligibility Before account registration, the portal checks factors including: Nationality Age Passport type Intended airport of arrival If you do not meet the currently supported criteria, the system may direct you to the standard immigration process. Step 3: Create an account Create a profile using your correct personal and contact information. Step 4: Capture passport information Take a clear image of the same passport you intend to use for the journey. Do not apply using one passport and travel using a different passport unless Home Affairs specifically confirms that this is allowed. ADVERTISEMENT Step 5: Complete facial biometrics The application requires a live facial image. This is part of the biometric identity-verification process. Step 6: Complete the application questions Provide the requested personal and travel information. Check spelling, passport numbers and dates carefully before submitting. Step 7: Pay the displayed fee The official ETA website states that applicants must pay the relevant application fee. At the time of this article's verification, the public landing page does not present one universal fee that XTRAfrica can responsibly quote for every applicant. Use the amount shown inside the official application process. Step 8: Submit the application The ETA website says applicants can submit the completed application and wait for an outcome through the digital system. Save the approval information and any confirmation provided by Home Affairs. How Long Is the ETA Valid? The official public landing page says an ETA is electronically linked to the traveller's passport and may allow multiple trips during the validity of the ETA . However, travellers should not assume a specific universal validity period unless it is displayed in their approved authorisation or confirmed by the Department of Home Affairs. The system is still being expanded, and operational conditions may change. Always check: The start date Expiry date Number of permitted entries Maximum stay allowed Purpose of travel on the actual authorisation issued to you. Can You Work in South Africa With an ETA? No. The Department of Home Affairs explicitly states that work in South Africa is not permitted on an ETA . A traveller who plans to work for a South African employer or undertake activities requiring employment authorisation must obtain the appropriate work visa or other immigration permission. Do not enter as a visitor and assume that an ETA can be converted into permission to work. Can Children Apply for the ETA? The current ETA registration screen says applicants must be 18 or older . That means parents travelling with children should check the rules applying to minors separately instead of assuming that children can simply complete the same registration. South Africa also has specific immigration documentation rules for children in certain travel situations, including children travelling with one parent, guardians or other adults. Families should verify both: The child's visa or entry requirement; and Any parental-consent, birth-certificate or guardianship documentation that may apply. What If the ETA Website Says You Are Not Eligible? An unsuccessful eligibility check does not automatically mean you are prohibited from travelling to South Africa. It may simply mean that your: Nationality is not currently enabled Airport is not supported Age falls outside the present ETA process Passport does not satisfy the portal requirement Journey requires another visa category If the ETA registration page does not accept you, check the normal South African visa rules applying to your nationality. Depending on your passport and purpose of travel, you may need to: Travel under an existing visa exemption Apply through the older South African eVisa system if eligible Apply through a South African embassy, high commission or consulate Follow the standard Home Affairs or VFS process applicable to your visa category Do not repeatedly submit altered information simply to bypass the ETA eligibility screen. Does an ETA Guarantee Entry Into South Africa? No travel authorisation should be treated as an unconditional guarantee of admission. Travellers remain subject to South African immigration and border controls when they arrive. Visitors should travel with supporting information relevant to their trip, which can include: A valid passport ETA or visa confirmation where applicable Return or onward travel information Accommodation details Contact information for a host where relevant Evidence relating to the purpose of the visit where requested Any health or customs documents applicable to the itinerary Border officials can still verify whether a traveller meets the legal requirements for admission. Travellers should be especially careful with websites that: Claim every nationality is already eligible Promise guaranteed ETA approval Charge unexplained "priority" fees Ask for payment before showing whether you qualify Use unofficial domains designed to resemble government websites Contact applicants through unsolicited WhatsApp messages Ask for passport scans through social-media direct messages The safest starting point is the official Department of Home Affairs ETA website. For the current rollout, the official portal uses the South African government Home Affairs domain: eta.dha.gov.za South African ETA Apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation Bookmark the official site instead of relying on advertisements in search results. What Changes on 12 August 2026? The 12 August event is significant because it represents the official national launch of the ETA programme after its earlier pilot phase. The Presidency says the launch will include a live walkthrough of the system and a guided tour of the new border-management technology. However, readers should distinguish between: The official launch of the programme The nationalities currently enabled on the registration portal The ports currently enabled for ETA entry Future expansion of the system XTRAfrica will review the system again after the official launch because Home Affairs may announce additional countries, entry points, fees, validity rules or eligibility conditions. Frequently Asked Questions Is South Africa's ETA already available? A live Department of Home Affairs ETA portal exists and currently accepts registration from a limited group of eligible travellers. The formal launch by President Cyril Ramaphosa is scheduled for 12 August 2026. Which countries can currently apply? As of 6 August 2026, the live registration screen lists China, India, Indonesia and Mexico. Can Nigerians apply for the South Africa ETA? As of 6 August 2026, Nigeria is not among the four nationalities displayed on the current ETA registration eligibility screen. Nigerian travellers should follow the visa process currently applicable to Nigerian passport holders unless Home Affairs officially expands ETA eligibility. Can Congolese travellers apply? As of 6 August 2026, the Democratic Republic of Congo is not displayed among the nationalities currently enabled on the ETA registration screen. Congolese travellers should use the applicable standard South African visa process unless the official portal is updated. Can I enter through Durban with an ETA? The current registration screen lists OR Tambo, Cape Town and Lanseria international airports. Travellers planning to use another port should follow the standard immigration process unless Home Affairs adds that port. Do I need a physical visa sticker after ETA approval? The ETA is electronically linked to the passport. Follow any instructions provided with the authorisation and travel using the same passport connected to the application. Does the ETA allow work? No. The official portal explicitly states that employment in South Africa is not permitted on an ETA. Is the ETA the same as an eVisa? No. South Africa's ETA is the newer travel-authorisation system. The country also has an existing online eVisa platform. Travellers should use the immigration route applicable to their nationality and purpose of travel. How much does the South Africa ETA cost? The public ETA site states that a relevant application fee must be paid, but travellers should use the amount shown by the official portal during the application instead of relying on unofficial websites or old fee tables. How long does approval take? The ETA website describes a highly automated process and tells applicants to submit and await the digital outcome. Because operational performance may change as the system expands, travellers should avoid treating any advertised processing time as guaranteed unless Home Affairs publishes it officially for their case. • The South African Police Service (SAPS) disclosed on Wednesday, April 10th, the arrest of six individuals linked to the tragic demise of renowned footballer and Olympian, Luke Fleurs. The 24-year-old defender met his untimely death due to a shooting incident at a petrol station in Honeydew, Johannesburg, on April 3rd. These developments come as a significant stride in the investigation spearheaded by a specialized team under the directive of Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni, focusing on the hijack and murder of the esteemed Kaizer Chiefs player. The recovery of Fleurs's vehicle and the subsequent arrests mark a critical juncture in the ongoing case. In a meticulously coordinated operation, law enforcement officials apprehended the suspects in Slovoville, Soweto, during the early hours of Wednesday, following the recovery of Fleurs's stripped vehicle on the preceding Monday. The authorities are positing that these individuals are integral to a wider car hijacking syndicate plaguing the Gauteng region. The investigative team, led by Gauteng Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection Major General Mbuso Khumalo, comprises members from various units including the SAPS Provincial Investigation Unit, National Crime Intelligence, Drone Unit, along with local Honeydew Detectives and Crime Intelligence, augmented by CAP Special Operations and Fidelity Specialized Services. This case has cast a spotlight on the escalating violence within South Africa, a country grappling with a surge in violent crimes over the past decade. The arrest precedes the suspects' scheduled court appearance at Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Friday, April 12, 2024. The alarming rise in homicide rates in South Africa, which recorded 27,494 murders in the year to February 2023, starkly contrasts with global figures, underscoring a pressing need for robust measures to combat this epidemic of violence.
