Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has criticized President William Ruto’s Jamhuri Day speech, calling it misleading and dishonest. Kalonzo argued that Ruto’s claims about progress and development are untrue and fail to reflect the struggles and values of Kenya’s forebearers.

“The speech does not reflect the struggles of our forebearers or the values they fought for,” Kalonzo said. He accused Ruto of prioritizing self-promotion over fulfilling promises, adding, “The culture of dishonesty has replaced the respect and integrity that Kenyans deserve.”

Kalonzo’s remarks follow Ruto’s defense of his administration during the Jamhuri Day address, where he dismissed critics as spreading fake news and undermining progress.

Despite Ruto’s call for transparency, concerns over governance and integrity continue to grow, with Catholic bishops warning that dishonesty could erode public trust and democracy.
