During his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi urged the global community to implement sanctions against Rwanda, accusing it of destabilizing the Democratic Republic of Congo.
"We call on the international community to firmly condemn these acts and to impose targeted sanctions against Rwanda for its destabilizing and harmful role. We demand the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Rwandan troops from our territory." Felix Tshisekedi
President Félix Tshisekedi highlighted a dire humanitarian crisis in the DRC, driven by the resurgence of the M23 terrorist group, which he claims is supported by Rwanda. The conflict has disastrously displaced over 7 million people. UN experts report that 3,000 to 4,000 Rwandan troops are actively collaborating with M23, further fueling a decade-long conflict, underscoring Rwanda's harmful interference under President Paul Kagame's regime.
