The second edition of the Zacu Gala was held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at M Hotel in Kigali, bringing together filmmakers, musicians and public officials for an evening aimed at strengthening collaboration across Rwanda’s entertainment industry.

The event attracted prominent names from the film and music sectors, including The Ben, Platin P, Knowless, Nel Ngabo, Zuba Ray and Aline Gahongayire. Also in attendance was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Youth and Arts Development, Umutoni Sandrine, who commended the organizers and encouraged greater cooperation among creatives

Umutoni emphasized the importance of combining strong storytelling with quality visuals, sound and costume design to elevate Rwanda’s film output. “When great visuals meet great sound and strong styling, we get authentic artistic work,” she said. “I encourage you to continue collaborating at all levels.”

Zacu Entertainment Ltd CEO Wilson Misago Nelly said the gala was created to connect filmmakers with other creatives who are not traditionally involved in film. He noted that broader partnerships—especially with musicians—can unlock more opportunities within the industry.

“We want people across entertainment to work together more,” Misago said. “Music artists can participate in cinema, and filmmakers can collaborate on music videos. There are many opportunities in film, but they require teamwork.”

Misago added that Zacu Entertainment remains committed to improving the quality of Rwandan films, unveiling new productions each year and expanding international partnerships, including projects with South Africa and Nigeria.

The gala featured performances by Nel Ngabo and Zuba Ray of Kina Music and marked another step in efforts to grow Rwanda’s film industry through cross-sector collaboration
