An influencer on X, formerly known as Twitter, has issued a public apology to Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage following an online exchange involving comments about her son.
The influencer, identified as Dami Foreign, came under criticism after referencing Savage’s son, Jamil Balogun, in a post on the platform. The comment prompted a direct response from the singer, who warned him against involving her child in online discussions.
In a post shared on Monday, Savage stated that any further mention of her son would go beyond social media. She said she had previously ignored what she described as repeated online attacks directed at her but considered references to her child unacceptable.
Following the backlash, Dami Foreign addressed the singer directly in an apology posted on X. He denied intending harm toward Savage or her son and said he did not wish death or ill will on either of them. The influencer added that he had previously made positive comments about the singer and described his actions as unintentional.
Savage also alleged that the influencer had made past remarks questioning her age and relevance, which she described as malicious. In one post, she accused him of persistently targeting her online.
The apology later gained attention on X, with several users commenting on the exchange and the influencer’s expression of remorse.
